Traditional Chinese painting mainly combines calligraphy and poem, which is what we call “书诗画 (calligraphy, poem, and painting)”. Calligraphy and poem are integrated and resonate with painting. Therefore, calligraphy, poem, and painting are what we call “Chinese painting is a trinity art”, which makes Chinese painting reach the highest state of art.
